after week 17

Still at about the same weight from a month ago.  I'm having more muscle sightings though.  :)    This weekend I will run 6 miles and I will decide from there if I will do the Music City 1/2 marathon.  Sometimes

after week 16

Hard to believe its been 16 weeks since I began this quest.  I ran 5 miles last Wed... 70 minutes.  I walked about 6 minutes.  I got a long road to go to lose the good ole muffin top.  I would love to have some abs before my birthday in December!

after week 15

Ran 3 miles today in 36 minutes 30 seconds.  Music City Marathon? hmmmm.   Only 23.2 more to go. Gotta keep reminding myself that it took a long time to get out of shape, it just might take more than a couple months to be fit.

after week 14

Lost one more pound.  Weighed 182.2 today.  Getting close to being under 180.  It's a challenge to get in all the protein that I desire.   I started at 197.  I've gone from 30% body fat to 22%.  Starting date for this journey was 11/20/2013.

after week 13

No weight loss this week.  I've been faithful though.  My expectations are definitely greater than reality.      I'm pumping iron and doing cardio.  I guess if it took years to get this way, it just might take more than a few weeks to come off.  lol

after week 12

Lost one more pound since two weeks ago.  Its amazing, after one day of eating whatever I want can put on several pounds the next day.  It came off relatively easy but cant make a habit of that.  I reached another goal and that I was able to bench 185.   Now working towards 205.  I'm feeling stronger and actually had a sighting of an ab on my gut the other day!   I skipped taking a picture of week 11.  No good reason.   I received my juicer the other day and looking forward to juicing more.  Also, headed to Genesis healing center this weekend to learn more about healthy food choices, eating raw, etc... and some good juicing recipes.  My family gagged when I made my first juice.   I thought it was good.  I've had a couple people comment in person regarding the difference they see.  Boy, that sure is encouraging!   My biggest goal is that once I achieve my short term goal is that I will be able to "maintain" what has taken so long to achieve.... not that I've achieved it yet.   #keep going Dave.  Hopefully the pictures will start to look a lot better soon.  #go away gut!

after week 10

Lost one more pound.  Doing more cardio.  Ran 2 miles today.... 30 minutes.  Not a blazing fast pace, but I didn't pass out.   Able to bench 185.   I've never been able to bench press 205.  Maybe soon I can reach a new milestone in the bench press department.  Taking a picture each week has provided motivation for me.  It shows progress but a great reminder that I still have a L O N G way to go.  I'm looking at doing this for the long haul.  My kids are drinking more water and talking the eating healthy mantra with me.  It's exciting.  I've reached my first fitness goal.  No man should have bigger boobs than his wife!
